Fast-Onset Botulinum Toxin

Dysport in Gainesville, FL

Dysport offers a fast-onset, soft, natural-looking smoothing of expression lines — physician-injected at Bespoke Aesthetics.

What is Dysport?

Dysport is a botulinum toxin type A injection FDA-approved for treatment of moderate to severe glabellar lines (frown lines between the eyebrows). Like Botox, it works by temporarily relaxing specific facial muscles to soften dynamic wrinkles. The differences come down to formulation, diffusion, and onset.

At Bespoke Aesthetics, Dysport is one of three neurotoxins offered (alongside Botox and Daxxify). Dr. Carolyn Indianos, MD personally performs every injection, selecting the right neurotoxin based on your face, treatment goals, and prior response.

Dysport vs. Botox — Key Differences

Onset: Dysport often shows initial effects in 2–3 days, sometimes faster than Botox (3–5 days). For patients who want quick results before an event, this matters.

Diffusion: Dysport diffuses slightly more from the injection site. This makes it well-suited for larger treatment areas like the forehead, where smooth coverage matters. For very precise small-muscle work (lip flip, brow shaping), Botox may be preferred.

Dose conversion: Dysport units are not 1:1 with Botox. Generally 2.5–3 Dysport units are required for the same effect as 1 Botox unit. The cost-per-effect typically nets out comparable.

Duration: 3–4 months for most patients, similar to Botox.

Allergic potential: Dysport contains cow’s milk protein in the manufacturing process. Patients with severe milk allergies should choose Botox or Daxxify.

Best Treatment Areas for Dysport

Forehead lines (horizontal): Dysport’s diffusion creates smooth, even coverage across the forehead. Often the first-choice neurotoxin for this area.

Glabella (the 11s): FDA-approved for this area. Effective and well-studied.

Crow’s feet: works well for lateral periorbital lines.

Larger areas needing diffusion: sometimes preferred for jawline (masseter) and bunny lines.

For very precise small-muscle work like lip flip, eyebrow micro-lifts, or perfectly symmetric corrections, Dr. Indianos may recommend Botox or Daxxify based on the specific goal.

What to Expect — Treatment, Onset, Duration

The visit: 20–30 minutes. Quick consultation, photos, marking, then injections. Numbing typically not needed.

Onset: initial effects appear 2–3 days post-injection (sometimes faster than Botox); full effect at 10–14 days.

Duration: 3–4 months for most patients. Some metabolize faster (athletes, very expressive faces).

Aftercare: stay upright for 4 hours, avoid rubbing the area, no exercise for 24 hours, no facials/microneedling/saunas for 24 hours. Standard post-Botox protocol.
