B12 Injections in Gainesville, FL

Methyl-B12 and B-complex injections for sustained energy, metabolic support, and cognitive sharpness — physician-supervised.

Why B12 Matters

Vitamin B12 (cobalamin) is essential for red blood cell formation, neurological function, DNA synthesis, and energy metabolism. The body cannot synthesize B12; it must come from diet (animal products) or supplementation. Many adults — especially over 50, vegetarians/vegans, those on metformin, PPIs, or with autoimmune gastritis — have suboptimal B12 levels even with apparently normal lab ranges.

Oral B12 absorption is limited by gastric intrinsic factor and gut health. Sublingual and oral supplements help some patients, but many need injection-based supplementation to achieve therapeutic levels. B12 injections deliver bioavailable cobalamin directly to tissues.

B12 Injection Forms Offered

Methylcobalamin: the active, methylated form. Supports the methylation cycle directly — particularly relevant for patients with MTHFR gene variants. Best for cognitive, neurological, and mood support.

Hydroxocobalamin: longer-acting form, often retained in tissues longer than cyanocobalamin. Used for chronic fatigue and pernicious anemia.

Cyanocobalamin: the most common pharmacy form. Inexpensive, well-absorbed, suitable for most patients without methylation concerns.

Lipo-B / Lipotropic B12: B12 combined with methionine, inositol, and choline (“MIC”) for fat metabolism support. Often used as adjunct to weight loss programs.

Dr. Indianos selects the form based on your goals, lab values, and any genetic factors (MTHFR, COMT).

Who Benefits from B12 Injections?

  • Chronic fatigue or low energy — especially with low-normal serum B12 (200–500 pg/mL is “normal” but often functionally low)
  • Vegetarians and vegans — the only reliable B12 source for plant-based diets
  • Adults over 50 — absorption decreases with age
  • Patients on metformin or PPIs (proton pump inhibitors) — both reduce B12 absorption
  • Patients with MTHFR gene variants — need methylated B12 form
  • Cognitive complaints, brain fog, low mood, neuropathy — B12 deficiency affects nervous system
  • Weight loss programs — lipo-B injections support fat metabolism
  • GLP-1 weight loss patients — appetite suppression can affect B12 intake

Protocol & Frequency

Loading phase: weekly injections for 4–8 weeks for active repletion or symptomatic deficiency.

Maintenance: every 2–4 weeks based on labs and symptoms. Some patients prefer monthly; some weekly indefinitely.

Dosing: typical 1000 mcg IM or subQ. Higher doses (2500–5000 mcg) for severe deficiency or absorption issues.

Lab follow-up: recheck B12 (and methylmalonic acid for functional B12 status) at 8–12 weeks to confirm response.

Frequently Asked Questions

Common questions about treatment, protocols, and Bespoke’s clinical approach.

Oral B12 absorption is limited by gastric intrinsic factor and gut health. Many adults absorb less than 50% of oral B12. Injections deliver 100% bioavailable cobalamin directly to tissues, bypassing absorption issues.
Loading phase: weekly for 4–8 weeks. Maintenance: every 2–4 weeks based on labs and symptoms. Some patients prefer monthly long-term.
Many patients with low-normal B12 levels (200–500 pg/mL is ‘normal’ but often functionally low) report improved energy, focus, and stamina with B12 injections. Methylcobalamin form is especially helpful for cognitive support.
B12 injections are priced affordably at Bespoke Aesthetics. Single injections and package pricing available. Often included in monthly wellness or weight-loss memberships.
Methylcobalamin is the active form your body uses directly — helpful for patients with MTHFR variants or methylation issues. Cyanocobalamin is converted by the body to active forms and is less expensive. Dr. Indianos selects based on your needs.
Yes. B12 is water-soluble and excess is excreted in urine. Side effects are rare (mild injection-site soreness). Allergic reactions to cobalt are extremely rare. Dr. Indianos screens for contraindications.
Yes — B12 is often added to GLP-1 weight loss protocols. Lipo-B (B12 + MIC) injections support fat metabolism. Reduced food intake during GLP-1 therapy can lower B12 stores.
B12 injections are administered at our Gainesville clinic. We serve Gainesville and 12 surrounding cities within 15–45 minute drive time.
